Taps Across America

Taps Across America is an annual event that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause for a duration of one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States.

With 100 Nights of Taps we honor the fallen laid to rest at the Gettysburg National Cemetery. Beginning on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day, each evening a bugler will sound taps at the cemetery in Gettysburg, PA. Taps is sounded at 7 pm. Tomb of the Unkowns

The National Salute is a means to show our deep respect for our Unknown Soldiers and all veterans. On November 11, at 11:00 am your local time, we ask that you sound Taps as a remembrance of our honored Veterans.

On November 7, 2021, we commemorated the centennial of the Tomb of the Unknowns.

TapsForVeterans.org is organizing a nationwide sounding of Taps to honor General Colin Powell, the former national security adviser, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Secretary of State, who passed away October 18 at the age of 84.
